Because the mix is sprayed wet, it adheres directly to the wall with zero air gap at the interface. This matters enormously for older buildings where interstitial condensation is the primary risk of any internal wall insulation.

The 3CM is the professional-grade hempcrete spray machine used throughout France and Europe, where hemp-lime construction has a multi-decade track record. Sally is what makes consistent, fast, detail-perfect spray installation possible and her friend Harry the hemp box keeps her fed. Our team understands these machines deeply: how they perform in different conditions, how to calibrate the mix, how to achieve a consistent installation every time.

From first email
to final wall.

We quote within 5 working days once design details are confirmed. Staged payments. 30% before arrival, 40% during install and 30% on completion, keeps things manageable for everyone.

Online meetings. We go through drawings, sections, details and flag technical queries.

Site visit for nearby jobs. Photos and video for distant ones. Access and logistics confirmed.

Install

Day 1 is setup and masking. ~3m³/day. Walls left clean and plaster-ready.

No. Hempcrete is mixed on site, and the ratio of hemp shiv to binder is critical. Too much binder and the mix is less insulative and more expensive. Too little and it won't adhere. We use a UK-formulated binder developed specifically for spray application by Graham Durrant of Hemplimespray, one of the country's most experienced hempcrete installers.
Yes. It's one of hempcrete's strongest use cases. It's vapour-permeable, compatible with lime and stone substrates, and follows contours without mechanical fixings. You improve thermal performance without compromising the building's breathability or historic character.
WUFI models how moisture moves through a wall build-up over time. For any internal wall insulation on an older building, we recommend a WUFI assessment before specifying. Annie carries these out in-house.
Yes. We're based in East Anglia but regularly travel across the UK for the right project. Distance isn't a barrier if access is good and the programme works. Get in touch to discuss.
Clear vehicle and machine access, a reliable water supply, and dry covered storage for materials. For scaffolded jobs we'll need to know the programme in advance. We walk through every requirement during pre-installation meetings.
We install and finish hempcrete ready for a breathable plaster coat, clay or lime. We don't apply the plaster ourselves, but we advise on compatible systems and finishes.
